"I think it would be quite ironic if after seven or eight years of drama over the president's birth certificate, if Republican primary voters were to choose Sen. Cruz as their nominee, somebody who actually wasn't born in the United States and only 18 months ago renounced his Canadian citizenship" White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest
To be clear I have no issues with Ted Cruz running for President. Yes it is true that the courts have never defined what the founders meant by "natural born citizen", but I think it is safe to assume that if you are born a citizen you can run for President of the United States. Ted Cruz's mother was American, so even though he was born in Canada Mr. Cruz is fine.
The irony is this. For the last nine years we have heard about Obama and the "birthers". You know the racist pieces of shit (Fox News network) who spent hour after hour wondering if Obama was really born in the US or was the spooky black guy born somewhere else like Kenya. Well hold onto your hats folks, even though the sane among us know Obama was born in Hawaii it would not matter. Even if Obama was born in Kenya, his mother was an American from Kansas so President Obama would still have been able to run for the same reason Ted Cruz is. I always wondered why when the media pondered where Obama was born, why did someone not just say "it does not matter"? It didn't matter, but I guess they wanted the ignorant idiots to keep watching their newscast.
For now I will sit and watch the right who questioned Obama try and get behind the guy who I think is going to be the nominee.
